COSHH & RIDDOR Awareness Training -
On Arrangement

This half day course introduces the dangers of and suitable control measures for dealing with harmful substances. The course is designed to provide delegates with awareness in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and how it may affect them, their colleagues and their employer.

Under the COSHH Regulations, employers must provide sufficient information, instruction and training so that employees are fully aware of the risks to health from exposure and the precautions they need to take.

The course material / handouts are used in conjunction with the Health and Safety Legislation and associated guidance from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

If you are an employer, self employed or in control of work premises you will have duties under RIDDOR.
Reporting accidents at work and ill health at work is a legal requirement.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is suitable for managers, supervisors and employees who are required to use or handle hazardous substances and/or deal with duties under RIDDOR.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course delegates should have:

Have an awareness of the regulations and an understanding of duties and legislation
Understand their roles under the legislation
Have increased awareness of the health and safety issues associated with using and handling hazardous substances and their effects on health
Possess skills on safe handling of substances
Have an understanding of suitable control measures to reduce the risks
Be knowledgeable of how to manage an incident
Understand a step by step approach to be used for a COSHH assessment
